Real Estate Listing Image Capture: How to Highlight Architectural Design
The images for this house were specifically taken to sell the property. But the builder wanted something a little different; something more editorial that captured the craftsmanship of the build, the historical architecture, and the luxury lifestyle of the space.
So, we did a full, editorial photoshoot to capture the mood and the details. I used extra lighting to give the images more depth and the illusion of sunlight, despite it being a cloudy day. And I focused my images on one space or vignette at a time. Showing everything in one frame would give the viewer too much too look at, and the details would get lost amongst the beauty and vastness of the space. The tighter shots seen here allow the viewer to notice the textures, finishes, and features of each moment.
My favorite part of the project? The original stained glass windows, refinished to their initial charm.
I faced quite a few technical challenges on this shoot: Below freezing outdoor temperatures, Off-white walls, and the race against the clock as the sun set.
